Prevention against radicalization
Thanks to the exceptional work of our local partner BVES, we are proud to have been able to actively participate in the fight against the recruitment of child soldiers in the South Kivu region. Beyond simply preventing child soldiers, ASODH has also been able to conduct psychosocial support activities for former child soldiers to help them envision a better future.
Health
The ravages caused by the EBOLA virus and, more recently, by monkeypox, have led us to set up several emergency health projects to benefit isolated and disadvantaged populations in the east of the DRC.
Social cohesion
Repeated conflicts in eastern DRC have exacerbated intercommunity tensions, often exacerbated by external influences. Through its local partners AJEDI-Ka, CYCO, OPADER, and Jeunes Méthodistes, ASODH has conducted several projects in South Kivu aimed at easing tensions between different communities and thus directly contributing to improving the security situation in the region.
Sustainable development
The environmental, health, and social consequences of mining in eastern DRC are a major concern for ASODH. Thanks to our local partner RUPFA-DRC, we are currently conducting an ambitious project at several mining operations and are proud to have been able to bring together civil society, local and national authorities, and mining companies. The success of such projects depends on the involvement of all stakeholders.
