Health

Access to healthcare is a major challenge for isolated and disadvantaged populations in Ghana. Working with its local partner RUPFA, ASODH has already financed the purchase of ambulances for several villages, allowing their residents to reach hospitals in the cities. When this is no longer sufficient, it is essential to bring healthcare capacity to the villages themselves. This is why ASODH is also involved in the construction and renovation of rural clinics.

Education support

The challenges facing remote villages in Ghana are numerous. Among them, access to education for children remains a priority if we are to give them a chance to choose their own destiny. For several years, ASODH has supported the NGO RUPFA in the construction and renovation of primary schools for remote villages in Northern Ghana.

Access to water

In northern Ghana, many isolated villages suffer from limited access to water. With its local partner, Future For Africa, ASODH was able to finance the construction of four wells in the Upper East region. Given the success of this project, ASODH is committed to continuing and expanding its support in this area to achieve a lasting and tangible impact for the local population.

Awareness raising : intercommunity dialogue

In northern Ghana, ASODH supports its local partner (FUYAG) in helping the Fulani herder community, which is too often excluded from society. Access to education and employment, particularly for young people, is one of the major challenges for them, who suffer significant discrimination. Since 2022, ASODH has been able to help several dozen young Fulani by financing their studies as well as vocational training. With a view to lastingly changing society’s view of the Fulani, ASODH also provides financial and capacity support in conducting awareness-raising sessions in northern Ghana. These sessions directly contribute to easing tensions between communities and, more broadly, improving security in the region.
